The first few weeks with baby are very important for both you and baby. You need lots of time to get to know one another, so it is a good idea to have lots of support around you.

Friends and family are usually eager to help but often don’t know how. Simple things like cooking meals, washing and folding laundry, doing dishes, grocery shopping, cleaning house, and holding baby while you take a long bath or shower are wonderful gifts your friends and family can give your new family.

Don’t be shy about asking for or accepting this help - it is their way of welcoming the new family member.

Taking care of a new baby can be both exciting and exhausting, so let your loved ones help you be the best mom you can be.
