Water is one of the most important nutrients you need every
day.
Good fluid (water) intake:
| • |
helps your blood volume
increase (50% during pregnancy) so that more oxygen can
get to your growing baby, |
| • |
supports a good amniotic
fluid volume to protect and nourish baby, and |
| • |
helps your kidneys and
liver work efficiently. |
Here are a few tips:
| • |
drink at least 8 glasses
of water every day, |
| • |
drink lots of water during
exercise, |
| • |
100% fruit juice is a
good source of fluid but should be taken moderately due
to its sugar content, |
| • |
sodas and other carbonated
drinks are not good substitutes for water. |
